The word ‘stairway’ immediately made me think of this! The Leshan Giant Buddha is 70 metres tall and is in Leshan, Sichuan, China. I lived there for 6 months a few years back. To get down to the bottom of the Buddha you have to climb down rocky stairs which are full of people.
I don’t think I’d be able to cope with those stairs. You’d find me clinging to the railing for dear life.

Being China, you have people trying to come back up the stairs that you’re supposed to go down. The railings don’t look very safe either!

I think you get that everywhere. Some people just don’t seem to notice when everyone is going the opposite way to them.
